Description

Much redder than the purple finch, Cassin's Finch is more slender than the house finch, and recognized by the rosy red rump. It's the only red finch I have seen in this area. I'll take time to catch up on browsing and commenting soon. Thanks for your views and comments.

We have so many of these guys and now there is one with a dark gold color. He is mean also. Chases the other finches away. The doves come and kick his butt though!.. Nice shot.

Excellent closeup detail on this guy, Maria. We have house finches and goldfinches up here, but no Cassin's that I know of. I love the house finch's song.
