Description
without farewell
just a mist left behind
a breath that was only kind
the light and familiar song
except the memory are gone
without farewell
and I am left without a part
that was a presence in my heart
and just the mist is all I find
my friend has left me here behind
a lesser piece, I shine less bright
the sun has set and left the night
without farewell
for a friend that once was mine
has journeyed now beyond the line
to a place that he fore saw
to a peace that he heard call
but the ripples in my water still
remind me of his gentle will
an emptiness that is farewell
and so I smile behind my grief
at the mystery which was the thief
and regard the light you left behind
precious now within my mind
a soft song that that I still hear
that rends my heart and brings a tear
without farewell
may I pray your journey well
peace be with you where you dwell
and I hope we

Collin, you so beautifully captured Martin's spirit and gifts in this heartfelt farewell. I join with you in this, as words have failed me now. Everyone who met him received caring and light from him. He was a very special soul.

I am Katja Collin, Martin's sister, I only know you by a few words from my brother but I want to let you know how wonderful your poem is Collin, it means so much to me and will give it a place on my table, I will frame it and will read it again and again, it's so wonderful it brings tears to my eyes. You have no idea how glad you make me and you will never know how much it means to me, thank you from the bottom of my heart Collin!

This is a very late post however after reading your poem I had to stop by and you stopped by mine a little while ago and I needed to thank you for that: Now I will certainly add you to my list as I love the work you do here : My heart goes out to you and hopefully as time passes so will your grief or at least it will not be so new been there and done that not a place I want to go again but as life goes we will pass the sadness off and on: Hope your doing better: hugs ))
