Description

*** This looks much better in full-size! *** This is the first picture of a trilogy. Thanks to ArtPearl, who came up with the title for this, which will become clearer with the complete series. This picture was partly inspired by another work of mine, "The Arrogant Angel". I was looking for the conceptual opposite using some of the same visual elements (girl on a column wrapped in a cloth, clouds, sky). Tech stuff: The cloth around the character was modelled by me in Zbrush. Plants are from Linda Daireaux's, ruins are from Stonemason. Spectral atmo and clouds (what else?), GI model. Thanks for watching! EDIT: After the comment from Bea, I tried to make the ruins less smooth (re-rendered that part with a stronger bump map). Thanks!

What a great image! The composition is flawless again, and the lighting is brilliant. But mainly its the mood - breath-taking. Although the element are similar to 'arrogant angel' the differences are so telling: the angel filled up the space, was lit from the front and was in the middle of an adoring crowd, this girl seems so small, lit from behind, and alas no-one to admire her...tugs at the heart!

Great sky and nice posing the only thing I can see is that the ruins are a bit smooth :)

Always put displacement maps EVERYWHERE you can, especially ruins and such! LOL WOWEEEEEEEEEE! That said--I'm out of things to say. @_____@ Wow! This really is a SWEET render. The god-rays worked perfect in this piece. Dude, you hit this one out of the ball-park!

Beautiful painting. Exceptional in concept. Your human figures really could use a dynamic pose over the ordinary poser supplied poses. Especially if you are trying to convey a message of some kind.

I like this one better than the last...in conception and realization. Atmosphere is perfect. The shadowed face is a nice detail. I realize the smoothness of the ruins is to maintain continuity, but is a bit unrealistic. Excellent work!

The fabric looks more cloth like in this one. Very nice. The water looks a tiny bit grainy to me. No biggie. I love the light rays and clouds - the atmosphere is perfect.

Fantastic atmosphere. Those Godrays are brill. I wonder about the scale of things. The plants and grasses seem very large compared to the size of the archway in the ruin, and so does the girl. Nice wind effects on her hair and clothes. Why is she standing there, on that pillar? What is to come? This images leaves questions with the viewer - which is good! Lovely artwork.
