Description

This is another version of an image I posted 2 days ago. This image was inspired by the real place where I learned to swim when I was about seven, many years ago. A long, straight, narrow river called "Vala da Cana". I have very good memories of this place. Trees and vegetation are from C3D (about 9000 trees in this scene). Boy is Apollo. Atmo is spectral, light model is AO. The slight blur was made in PS by copying the boy 4 times with varying degrees of transparency. Thanks for watching! EDIT: Replaced the blur by a more traditional one. Thanks for the comments. The character is not in the foreground and that is intentional. The main actor here is not the character, Nature is. The boy is just a small part of it all.

It's good and clean looking. A straight motion blur without multiple images would look better. Sunlight is the only constant , steady light. Multiple images occur most often in artificial light like flourescents which flicker on and off 60 times a second. Sunlight yeilds a blur, instead off flicker. That said, this version is a hundred times better than the first. ^__^ V,,

Beautiful painting. Have you tried placing the character more in the foreground? I realize he might obstruct some of the background, but could it be that much? Also, the texture applied on the previous version would work, just lower the opacity much more to where it is barely noticeable. Beautiful image the way it is though.

9000 trees!?! Was that needed? How did your computer run? How long was the render? Well regardless its excellent, and beautiful!

Perfectly conveys the feeling of happy childhood days. I like the position of the child somewhat farther along the river - a large figure would spoil the wonderful feeling of tranquility. Even though the boy isnt in the forground, his careless joy comes through very clearly. The quality of the landscape is so great and in particular the water in the foreground - makes me want to jump in myself (OK - not jump, walk in carefully). The converging straight lines create very effective perspective, but I dont like straight lines. (There is a theory that men prefer straight lines and women prefer curved lines - perhaps its true)
