Description

Another iris from Walsterway Iris Gardens in Maltby, Washington. I know it looks like I over sharpened this, but I really didn't. The darker blooms tend to have a shimmery texture to them, and that velvety appearance is real! All those sparkles aren't from hitting the sharpen button with a sledgehammer, it's the light reflecting from a fabulously textured petal. All I did to this was frame it.

I can vouch for that. Iris do sparkle in the right light. Not sure I've seen this color before. Another excellent image, Tara.

With two vastly different petals, another lovely capture depicting the dichotomy of the iris plant. Along with the vivid red color, I really like the ribbing effect on the bottom petal. And, I can see the pathetic thistle is caught in the middle again. BTW, I could tell at first glance that your presentation had not been postworked. Since postwork is such an obsessive-compulsive habit of mine, I would have done it anyway.
