What do you know... the gumbo limbo tree does its aging in reverse from us humans. It starts out with silver that turns brown as it ages, while we start out topped with blond, brown, or red and turn silver with age. LOL Wonderful macro study here.

I have seen trees here that peel like this but not nearly as beautiful. in Arkansas I believe people have been stripping trees of their bark for to sell for medicinal purpose. they have destroyed so many trees
