Description

Ann lives right next door to another good friend of ours named Marsha. If you can imagine Ann's opposite, gardening-wise, it would be Marsha. Any flower that grows at Marsha's house is pretty much because Ann put it there, with one notable exception. (Now you KNOW I wouldn't be telling you this story if the exception weren't the above-pictured beauty!) On one of my picture-taking forays, Ann was showing me around the garden, both at her place and at Marsha's. We came upon this . . . whatever-it-is . . . in a pot on a stump next to the driveway. Of course I asked Ann what it was called, so I would have a chance at remembering when it came time to post the photograph! I just assumed she put it there, Marsha being more of the silk plant persuasion. She said, "I have no idea. It's some succulent that Marsha keeps killing off and it keeps coming back!" So there you have it. A mysterious, and magical succulent, for your viewing pleasure. If anyone knows what it is, feel free to jump right in! I live in a cold, wet climate, and succulents are NOT at the top of the list of stuff I know about!

Beautiful flower, and your capture is excellent. Color, detail, DOF, it's all good. No idea what it is, though. Google didn't show me anything that looked like this.
