In 1958, the magician who had loved his Merc and bought a custom 48 convertible only to sack it for the Olds mill and grille, joined polite society by simply buying new, an Impala. It was powder blue and pointed to a black one that wnet down in defeat on concrete to a powder blue Paxton blown 56 of the other make. This all led to a black 59 Vette FI which the dealer invited me to come see. Hmmm, bet it has pistons and cam just like mine. Not quite? I must have that cam. Meanwhile the W pot was cooking up a ride in a 409 Del Ray for 1961 and working with a K-9 veteran with a 409 dual quad for 1962.
