Lavender's blue, dilly dilly, Lavender's green. When I am king, dilly dilly, You will be queen. (17th century English folk song) .................. This is yet another iris from the Walsterway Iris Gardens in Maltby, Washington! It doesn't look much like the ones I've already posted, because those have all been bearded iris. There are hundreds of varieties of iris, bearded and otherwise. Growers and breeders come up with some pretty spectacular color combinations, and it's all very serious! (Well - it's serious to them. I just take pictures and say, "Ooh! Pretty!" a lot.) I brightened the levels a little bit on this, since the flower was in the shade, but I assure you that those colors are really real! Aside from the light level, I didn't change a thing. ................. Full view is worth it, and if you have the ability to zoom, give it a shot! The color combination in this is pretty amazing.
