Description

Well, it is an image that I'm working on...but I can't even put a preview up yet. You see, there's 840 light objects alone (and that's just what's on the shelves---not including the candles). Just the shelves with prophecies is a grand total of, get ready, 4,716,672 objects...so it's taking some time to sort out. I still have to add the candles, walls, ceiling and floor. I must add, this is the image that pops in my head when I read the book...not a scene from the movie. On that note, I WILL NOT DISCUSS MY THOUGHTS ON THE MOVIE!!! Trust me on this, it would only piss people off. Hell, my thoughts on the movie piss me off... Regardless, my image of the Fred and George's place of business is currently being rendered by my spare computer (it screams from time to time, I don't think it realized I was gonna make it work this hard once I told it that it was retiring). I can tell you that I would be surprised that when I start rendering this image, that it will take at least a month...I'll be surprised if it takes less...and that's if there's no power failure. Currently, a fast preview at 24% complete takes 9 hours. (that's with a pentium 940D processor-3 Ghz, with 2 gig of ram)---(the "render machine" is a pentium 2.8 Ghz HT with 1 gig of ram). So, all you Harry Potter geeks who'll want to see my version of the Department of Mysteries...keep your pants on, this one's gonna take some time. Thanks Jeff

That is one of the reasons I dont use bryce. It takes such a long time to render a scene. The new bryce is set up for dual and is suppose to run faster. But I havent tried it much to see. Looking forard to seeing the out come
