Description

When approach a group of geese, which I avoid to do btw, I expect every goose to leave or to fight me (in case it is a pet). This one didn't do anything of that. It was grooming and it went on with that even when I closed in.. I was curious to see what would happen... and nothing did.. so I tried to come close as best as I could and this was the result... I keep wondering.. why did the goose not fly away like the others did.. I think it was a dark-bellied brent goose (Branta bernicla) but I am not sure about that.

by the drooping eye lid during this preen, I would say pure contentment is why he did not react. Why ruin a good moment? LOL. Lovely detail and good goose shot.

No, I am convinced the goose was not ill or something like that. He looked perfectly normal.

HMM! Does a goose clean it self, if it is sick ? Maybe it once has been in human care. One thing is sure.... It is indeed a wonderful shot. Well done.
