Description
A while back I did an image in Bryce called "Reflections in a Blue Room". Ever since I've been working more in DAZ I've wanted to create a similar image completely within DAZ.
Finding out how to make a surface reflective was the first step and I found the answer here in the forums at Renderosity (thanks guys!)
This pic has taken a few weeks and I think I can say I'm pleased with the result. There were many test renders along the way because you don't actually SEE the reflection UNTIL you render. It seemed to take ages to get the angles right.
And then, I started out with just a large cube which I flattened and made reflective. Then, once I knew that worked I had to make it look more like a mirror. I ended up downloading a free morphable picture frame from here, courtesy of Morphography, I think, and made the glass element of the frame match the same reflective qualities of the cube I had in there. Removed the cube and voila! A framed mirror :)
**Edit** Thanks to the early comments about the shoulder straps (who knew they were "tweakable"?) I played around with them a bit and I think this is better now. Still not perfect, but when I try and tweak any more, I get, let's just say, I get "poke through")

WOW! You did a remarkable job dear!!! This is wonderful! The only thing I would fix in it would be her shoulder straps in the reflection as they are a bit big on her. But other than that TERRIFIC!!! You must get with me on reflections..> I have a time trying to get a mirror prop or anything else to look right. OH DLG!!!!

DLG~ Oh Jane this is wonderful, I am struggled with trying to get a mirrored image myself. You should be very happy with how this turned out. I do agree with Niha that the strap on her dress should be adjust to fit better. But other than that excellent work!

DLG- - -> Nice work Jayne. It's good to see some reflection work on a vertical surface for a change. Like Niha said the clothing needs a better fit on her upper body but other than that it looks great.

DLG... Excellent, the reflections are perfect, the lighting and shadows are right on and I love the expression on her face, just tweak the straps on her shoulders and it will be perfect. Excellent work!! Jaime :)

Thanks for all the wonderful comments guys. I'll admit - I noticed the shoulder straps too, but I had NO IDEA how to fix them. If anyone can tell me how, I'd appreciate a private message about it :) Thanks for all you help!

You go right on with descriptions about your renders, I do it a lot and you never know, someone might learn something. I certainly have today ^^ Superb image, 5+*****! Straps have been mentioned it does not retract from the image in my eyes but thats my own personal preference ^^ Lots of nice people on here who will help you with that I'm sure -_^

DLG :) I saw both your beautiful renders Jayne and think they have 'it'!!! (allready know you adjusted the straps..) The character is gorgeous and her outfit is very sexy.. Must add that I somehow pick out your renders first when I see a page with thumbnails.. There is something about them which intrigues me..
