Description

Taken during my marathon session at Wight's Nursery in Lynnwood, Washington. .................. This is NOT an arrangement in a vase! Those pale apricot buds really do open to reveal a clear yellow rose. Although I did a bit of postwork on the background, the real-life rose and it's accompanying buds are exactly as you see them here. Whoever hybridized this one should be very proud! It's an astonishing variety. I wish I remembered what it was called! I started out thinking about Texas (yellow rose, hello!), but somehow this seemed a little softer, a little more . . Southern, somehow. I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone but me, but hey - we've already agreed that it's okay to be fanciful and eccentric here, right? :) I hope this image and the title evoke warmth, openness and graciousness. .............. Hope you're all having a pleasant weekend!

Well, I'll excuse you since you aren't from Texas but, Hon, you can't EVER say you are thinking of something more southern than Texas. There isn't anything more southern than Texas... LOL! Ah, but I know what you meant... What a gorgeous rose and with all those buds I can see in my mind's eye what it will look like in just a few days. The open flower will droop and be cut off this stalk and all the buds will open and creat a stunning pompom of gorgeous blooms. So very beautiful.

What hubris! With all due respect to MrsLubner, there are places further south than Texas, like, say, Mexico, Central and South America, and Antarctica! But I digress. Offered above is one of my favorite POVs of a beautiful rose hybrid, undeniably immersed in the dark side, if you will, with neato soft yellow and textural effects, splendidly contrasted against a black background. Any Texan would have to admit ya'll did a fine job of picture takin' there, ma'am!
