Description
Wow, my third picture her ein the gallery - and two in the space of six months! I'm almost rushing these through now!! :)
This is the culmination (so far) of a project that I've been working on for several years within Poser, but am now at a point where the various techniques and skills needed to do it well are coming together for me. The background is a photograph taken by myself from my local area, whilst the additions are all posed and rendered, and then the finished result composited in Photoshop (and finished off using the excellent virtual photographer plugin - I recommned it heartily).
Other kudos for this image must go to those peopole who, indirectly, gave me the skills I needed to do it properly. To get the skin looking just right, I used an adapted version of BagginsBill's Ultra Basic SKin Shader. To get the lighting right, I took my own light probe image at the site, and then used the great 'advanced IBL' tutorial over at face_off's site to get an added from correctly placed infinite lights. Face_off's Occlusion Master was also used to enhance the proceedings.
Whilst I'm pretty sure that this particular image is done, this is only the first in a eries of similar images which I am planning to do. My hopes are to print them and sell the images commercially in a local gift shop here in town - it might not work, but I'll have a lot of satisfaction seeing the on offer! As such, however, critiques are most welcome, so that I can continue to hone and enhance the techniques I'm using here.
Many thanks for looking!

Excellent work putting together the photo and render. Cool concept as well and I think it came out nicely.

Excellent composite. I'm convinced you captured a shot of this creature out on a hike somewhere. Nice job with the motion blur on the foot too, it adds that subtle touch. Very good.

It must be because I lived in the UK for a long time - I find this a real downer. So gray and dreary. not scary or mysterious - just dull. However if you were going for a realistic/documentary depiction of the majority of days in th British isles - success.
