Description

Mt. St. Helens from approximately 4000 feet (1200 m) up Mt. Defiance. I'm guessing at the height, I don't remember exactly where this break in the trees was. My maps say these two mountains are about 45 miles (72 km) apart, approximately the same as Mt. Adams and Defiance. But in the summer the sky gets so hazy it looks like it's farther. Again, no manipulation of the colors; it's really that blue. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

Another fascination I have is with Mt. St. Helens. This is a fabulous shot. I love the layers of mountain with the snow capped Mt. St. Helens standing tall in the back. Excellent!

Stunning tone on your shot, makes you feel like you're in a ice age. I would however crop the trees out. They are distracting and there aren't enough to be a natural frame. You could also clone them out...

Even after all these years St. Helens still looks funny to me without her top. I know this is the view everyone is familiar with, but I remember when we had four matching mountains, and my mind still fills in the missing 1300 feet. Gorgeous capture!
