Description

A nostalgic image... It was the summer of 1990 and I was 10 years old. My first computer was an AMIGA 500 and I started to work with DELUXE PAINT, a 2D program... The image on the screen is the original picture I made... absolutely my first work! (The file was recovered from an old floppy with an Amiga Emulator, WinUae). I made a scene of the Transformers's toon, inspired to the first episode of the animated serie, "Escape from planet Cybertron". So started my passion for Computer Graphics. I applied to the 3D only in the fall of 1998, with Bryce 2, and I started to learn 3D Studio Max in December 1999-January 2000... In the summer of the 1990 in Italy was played the World Soccer Championship... So I put in the scene also the Official Mascotte of the event... that strange figure with the head like a soccer ball and the body like tetris-pieces on the left... Every boy in Italy that year bought one of theese mascottes, I suppose... On YouTube I've found the TV promo of Italia'90 Soccer Championship. A good 3D graphic example... for that time! Great render! Brought back a lot of memories. Started with a VIC-20 back in -81 myself and went through most of the Commodore range, before moving to PC in -93.

Ah, the Amiga Super-computer (as NewTek says in the LightWave manual). My 2000 is still working. I bought a Video Toaster because it was the first 24-bit graphics program available and then discovered it had to have an Amiga 2000 to go along with it! Now they talk about putting video on line and Mac/PC emulation and I just laugh. Where were they 15 years ago?

Summer 1990, what a summer... I was chilling all the time.. inside my mom... And then, some weeks later, I was born and this was the end of beautiful time I didn't have to do anything and I actually don't remember :D Great render!

Very cool work, I remember having a Tandy HX model-very slow. 1990..I was a brand new LT. in the USAF (Desert Storm)..brings back many memories. I had not even been interested in CG work at all then mostly because it wasnt even around. I do love this work nice detail and use of your original picture.

I was a lot older than 10 when I had my Amiga 500. I went on to get a 2000, 3000, and finally the mighty 4000! Then the company went belly up, and a major part of my life died with it.Your image is superb. I can't fault it. I leave you with 5 stars and a tear in the corner of my eye, for the memory of a truly magnificent machine.

I like this scene because it reminds me of when my son came here with his Commodore 64. He clearly rejected the Commodore VIC I bought him for Christmas and took it back when he was living with his aunt. I had offered the better graphics of the 6510 but he wanted General Purpose of 6502. He has gone on to be a USAToday route manager. He built his own server. So I can peek in here at what I missed. Lots of strength in primary causes here.
