Description

I think I'm calling this one done ... finally. This was a 55 hour render due to the complexity of the terrain materials, the water materials, the procedural terrain and the spectral sky. The terrain has a custom underlaying material and uses a new function to create the look. The ecosystem is also custom. The water plane has been wavemapped and I tweaked the colors to make it more of a match to the waterfall and rapids. The sky is a custom atmosphere which uses Global Ambience for the lighting model. I changed the position of the sun slightly to soften the shadows under the vegetation. Thanks for looking and thanks for all the comments during the evolution of this image.

55 hour render??? Your computer scares me, it would probably eat mine as a light snack. Now about the render itself, It's gorgeous! My favorite part is the water, I am so totally impressed that you actually went as far as to texture the bottom of the coastline. That sort of attention to details in my opinion is first rate. I have known folks who have tried to pull off water scenes and all you get is water and what looks like the bottom of a pool. Congrats on a very well earned sucess. Scott

This is absolutely fantastic and well worth the long render time. It would make an awesome background image for many other images too. Excellent work !
