Description
A friend described the Bald Eagle as "an Alaska-sized Osprey." It's just a big fish hawk, after all, so why do we collectively ascribe all these anthropomorphic values of courage, nobility, etc. to some big bird? It's benefitted from legal protection, of course, but they were never endangered in Alaska, where this image was captured. The problem with prohibitions is that they create financial incentives for poachers, like the person who wounded this innocent creature.
If you believe that animals should be protected against acts of violence, take a good, long look at your dinner plate!
