Description

She will insist on flying that silly little runabout. It's not shielded, or armed in any way. It's manoeuvrable enough, for most purposes, but it can't evade lightspeed weapons. Here on New Sheba itself, the StarQueen is in very little danger. The inhabitants are fiercely loyal, not to mention the bombardiers, with whom she is on first-name terms. In the outlying parts of the home system, there are a few separatists, but they are heavily outnumbered by loyalists. The Devereux dynasty has brought democracy, prosperity and peace to this part of the galaxy; only a lunatic can complain about that. Further afield, there are more "lunatics". New Sheba applies less palatable methods to maintain control in the outlying systems. The Queen has consistently opposed heavy-handed tactics, but has, as a constitutional monarch, very little power to intervene. Both the rebels and the rogue elements in the New Sheba military can profit from blaming just about anything on "the Crown". The StarQueen has already sworn in her daughter as her successor, in case anything happens to her. The Queen's younger brother will act as regent. Beyond that, she refuses to change her behaviour to adapt to the threat. A bit of a nightmare to render, because the flying thing has transparent doors, which have to be rendered at the same time as the buildings in the background. It is standing on the same surface as the women, so also has to be rendered at the same time as them. Poser got to the point of randomly refusing to open the files and (not so randomly) shutting down after renders, whether successful or not. I finally got a render that I quite liked, stored it successfully and shut my computer down, only to find that the drive on which I had stored the file had forgotten it existed...
