Description

Nikon 7900 image. I mentioned on yesterday's posting that I do not encourage spiders to climb onto my hand. However, sometimes the spider has their own opinion about where they want to climb, lol. Fortunately, I seldom actually freak out when I become their choice! This colorful little Jumping Spider is a case in point. I know from experience that if you get to close to Jumping Spiders, they are as likely to jump on you as to any other perch and sure enough, before this photo session was over, he had jumped on my camera, my leg, and my hand, lol. Fortunately at one point he also jumped onto this plant and I managed to get a good shot of him. I have seen a number of these lately. The female is basically brown and the red patches are much much less intense. Hope this cute spider makes up for the scarier one I posted yesterday, lol. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

You certainly have some varied wildlife round your place Lee, another cracker of a shot from you. I love the colour of this one, once again you have captured so much detail, it is a real pleasure to look at your posts. I think this one is scarier than yesterday's, that one crawled, this one jumps. I am not scared of spiders, I just don't like them, my daughter is scared, she will not look at this on the screen and if one decides to drop in the bath, the screams can be heard three blocks away. So then it is up to mum or dad to remove it.

CUTE???? Who are you trying to kid?? This thing jumps - a far less wanted species near me that's for sure!! A brilliant macro none-the-less of this furry arachnid trying to do his trapeze act. Excellent. xx
