I give you fair warning, what I'm about to say will spoil part of the final book...
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
This is a low grade render, however, half way through it, my computer slowed waaaaay down.
At first I didn't know why, then I realized that it slowed down right after I had read that Fred died. For those of you who aren't Harry Potter geeks, Fred is a twin of George, Ron's brother from the movies.
I think my computer knew what I read and got depressed. Once I finished the book, it sped back up to normal speed...which wasn't all that fast, but a lot better than when it slowed. And yeah, I checked it's progress, it was rendering the ground when it had slowed down.
I don't think I'm going to fully render the Department of Mysteries just yet. I'm hoping for a big enough tax return to get at least 2 more computers and Solaris; that way I can rig up a small, 3 computer render farm...maybe shave a year or two off that 10.59 years.
