Description

The wonderful thing about going on photo days with other people is you get to see things differently. It is easy to carry on making pics in your old familiar way and to miss so much. Well this is one of those examples. Not a subject I would normally shoot, but inspired by Vera and Akpe I revisted Leigh on Sea this afternoon. It is an HDR image converted to b/w postwork done in CS2. Many thanks for viewing and any comments, Richard.

It's great when you get a chance to isolate earth moving equipment from the usual clutter that surrounds them, you've done well to spot this and capture it, and done a damn good job too! It works in monochrome perfectly.

" Some thing's strange in the neighbor hood ...! " and then the chorus is not "Gostbusters !!!" but " Transformers !!!!!" Gig & impressive idea, good shot! W&B suits perfectly.. Your muses inspired you towards a good urban artistic pic.. Congrats, q:)

The HDR range sure does expand the reach of this image- its amazing to see all the detail in both sky and foreground. I agree with short ribs, it would also be interesting to see the color version--also for educational purposes!

Yes, you are so right. Working together with other people sometimes (many times) makes one see the world differently and a new way of taking pictures and new topics as a result of that. This sure isn't something I would prefer to take pictures of but you proved to be able to make ordinary things to be beautiful too.

Fabulous camera angle. Great postwork, too. I hear you about doing something out of your normal comfort zone. That's what's wonderful about being exposed to other artists. Glad you went for it and found it a rewarding experience. Well done, Richard.-M :^)

Super photo! My kind of machine, working in the construction industry I see these powerful but also gentle machines almost daily. Did you know that with a skilled operator those massive claws can pick up a wine glass without breaking it.
