Description

"Sloppy thinking gets worse over time. " ~ Jenny Holzer

Sometime you just have to use the tools at hand when taking a photo. All I had available with this beauty presented itself was a point and shoot digicam with limited viewing angle. I left the auto exposure on and clicked away, thus the tones of the sky. I knew that with rainbows you have a limited window of opportunity and didn't want to wait too long. I know what to do differently next time and hope I will get a chance to try it out! (i.e., lock in the exposure, take more photos of the surrounding area, etc.) As always, it is best viewed at full size. ------

Hi Kort! Gotta love it! I can never seem to get a whole rainbow in..... even a sloppy one! LOL :p And, yes, I've missed several intense rainbows just in the time it takes to pull the car over and get the camera out! Hope your well! Muah!

Well I for one wouldn't know what to do. I guess it pays to know these things ahead of time. Anyway, I think it's great you captured a rainbow. We hardly ever see them here. Maybe it's because of the city or something, but also if we get one, it's only a part of one. Never a full on arc like this. Lovely to see it, Kortalouche. Hope you're staying cool. -M :^)

Exquisite sloppiness.. (:P)..which lends itself quite beautifully to the collage effect. While you wished for otherwise, proof, in my eyes, that there are no mistakes..merely happenings :)

Well I have never seen this done before and at first, I wasn't sure if I liked it...... but, I have to say that it has really grown on my the more I look at it!! It has a very artistic feel to it being presented as a collage like that and at the end of the day, it is a full "bow" which I for one have only ever seen once before and was fortunate enough to capture it in two or three shots and "splice" together. Your creativity is amazing. xx

I like it - but then I always have liked this presentation style. No problem with the differences in exposure or WB - in a perfect world it would be nice to have the frames more a similar size in the collage though I appreciate doing it like this is more realistic as similar size frames will end up with close ups and distance shots in the same collage and the viewer has to piece it together.

This is really abstract from my POV. Is this panoramic stitching of some sort? It looks like a scene from the movie, TRUMAN, starring Jim Carrey, where an artificial citywide environment, unbeknownst to him, was created to study his reactions under lab conditions. I took a couple of photos of a rainbow that was generated by the early morning sun playing on water mist emitted by a lawn sprinkler system, but the rainbow came out washed out on the monitor, despite Photoshop attempts to revive and emphasize it.

Stitch this Jimi !!! I have a few old beach panorama hanging on my wall just like this collage ! You know what is really freaky, is the small triangular cloud right in the middle of rainbow...UFO ? colourful Aliens ? Interesting series of captures ! ~Cheers~ :o)

Well, shoot! After all the time I spent this weekend fussing and fuming and trying to get some panorama work done . . . maybe I'll try again. Yours looks great! I never would have thought of doing it this way.

A fantastic collage you have created here! I'm always fascinated about the two different blue color tones above and below the rainbow! Thans so much for sharing your photos with us!!!
