Description

This is a bit farther up the mountain, looking across Eliot Glacier. I'm standing on one lateral moraine and looking across the glacier at the other, just as if they were riverbanks. Compare this view looking across with this one from last week looking up at the glacier. Not a very pretty picture, I know, but I hope you find it interesting. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

This photo along with the other give a very graphic representation of this wonderful creation of nature. Your capture is, as usual, quite beautiful. 5*

Glaciers tell the story of our world and it is a very long one indeed. Magnificent view of this glacier and fabulous photography.

What a fascinating shot. I like being able to view the glacier "from above" to get the overall picture of how it looks. This isn't a view many of us will ever see so thanks for inviting us along on your hike.

Amazing erosion patterns! It's not often that you can see the effects on both rock and ice in the same place. It's a fascinating picture.

A look at this wildely cracked up part of the glacier is absolutely interesting. Plenty of opportunities of an unpleasant death for the unwary wanderer...
