She came down the stairs, radiant, and entered the room where the guests were waiting for her. A long deep silencze took place. Everybody, men and women were like bewitched... This time, I simply wanted to make a render with a beautiful and elegant woman wearing a splendid dress. I found the environment immediately because I absolutely wanted to include the staircase. The most difficult part was to achieve the pose and the lighting. The pose finally shows the girl as if she was entering a room after coming down the stairs. She might be whatever you want her to be: an actress for example. But it's up to you to decide what you want her to represent. The stairs were indispensable for me as a symbol of success... :) (as in many movies). In fact, I remembered some movies of the 60s where actresses were coming down the stairs with their natural charm and elegance, dressed in beautiful gowns. The general line to follow was found. The lighting is made of five points of light. Nothing else: no radiosity, no HDRI. It took some time to achieve but I'm pleased with it even if it's simpler than usual. It allows to give more depth to the image, a kind of 3D lighting effect. Concerning the character I wanted her to appear as someone very delicate. I chose the Ophelia hair because they gave the feeling that you saw someone who might come out of a greek tragedy. It was a way to insist on the beauty and elegance of the character. Another way that I used to achieve this result was to use a slight low angle shot. The girl seems tall and very majestic; it was absolutely what I wanted to "translate". I also increased the feeling by slightly bending the head upwards and by turning the head to the reu=ight (for Ella). The pose seemed a bit static to me and there was something I really wanted to take advantage of: the transparencies (it's one of the characteristics in Kaleya's work because they are always very original and subtle). The problem was that the transparent parts were on the sides but that I wanted to show the character coming to the person who would view the image. The issue was fixed this way: I selected the skirt and twisted it a bit to the left (for the character). That's how I achieved the wanted effect: you can see the transparencies (feet, legs) and the twisted skirt does add some dynamic movement, giving the impression that the character is effectively walking... Well, for me, Ella is really RADIANT. The scene was built in POSER 7 and then imported and rendered in VUE 6 Pro Studio. A slight postwork was applied in VUE itself.
