Description

A view from inside the Kamerlengo Fortress in Trogir, Croatia. The fortress was built in the 8th century and has been rebuilt over the centuries (familiar story in these parts). This view shows the modern city below while looking through a 1000 years of history. The mound of material in the bottom of the window frame is actually a stalagmite formed from centuries of rainfall on the limestone building (smaller stalactites can be seen hanging from the top of the window frame. http://www.trogir-online.com/eng/virtual_kamerlengo.asp
