"And it's wake up time...Â
Time to open your eyes...
Time to rise and shine."
Those are lyrics from a song on Tom Petty's Wildflowers album.
Maybe it's time to stop dreaming with my eyes closed and open them to the Universal Flow. As my dear friend and I were discussing yesterday, there are many schools of thought which put forth the idea that when we struggle against this flow, we make things harder on ourselves, we flounder, we have to push to get where we think we're going, we try to control and find it a monumental task.
However, when one goes with the Universal Flow, the current which is guiding us each toward our higher purpose, everything becomes easier. It doesn't mean everything is perfect, but everything seems to fall into place.
Keeping one's eyes closed to this beautiful truth and trying to make the universe flow where you think it ought because of what you have decided you want, doesn't help. You might even get what you want faster because the Universal Flow will take you there.... see, it knows all the shortcuts.
That's what I hear, anyway.
So rise and shine, kids...
It's wake up time.

...of course, a heart without brains ...is like, brains without a heart

Indeed. I was reading about Tabula Rasa the other day. It kind of speaks to the nature versus nurture question. Whether we are born with innate characteristics or if our environment shapes us into who we are. The twins raised separately studies speak to this... I believe there is much popular consensus that some things are innate (nature) and others are learned (nurture)- a melding of the two theories. But hey, I'm no social scientist! LOL. A heart without brains is a painful experience. But often, our hearts lead us where our brains tell us we shouldn't be going- but sometimes, what can you do? Kind of the "better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" frame of thinking. And brains without heart is to live life without passion and joy. How wise is that anyway? Perhaps smart, but wise? Mmmmm. Me, I'm not judging either way. I try to follow where my heart tells me my Truth lies. This is hard... but often, if you listen intently, your heart will tell you the secrets your subconscious hides from your brain. It is a whisper... listening to that low whisper can take you in difficult territory but can also move you forward to learn valuable lessons about yourself and life. Just one crazy person's thoughts in a world full of crazy thoughts... Thanks for the comments! I appreciate them much.
