Lynx helicopters putting on a show at the Culdrose Air day.
Looks like these shows will be coming to an end soon with talk of privatising air sea rescue operations.

Helicopters are something that people who believe in them are evangelistic about. Their appearance has heralded the unwinnable war. Like cavalry mounts before them they are dramatic. An Englishman would dismount to fight but a Frenchman rides on and on. I walked in on the test of the AH-56 "Cheyenne" transmission at Lockheed Rye Canyon and then followed it's tests and demonstrations until it crashed in a loop. We all remember Saddaam's liberation of Kuwait with helos and the Russian invasion of Afghanistan with the armed types they developed. We cringed at the Albanian fiasco with the Apaches. We waited patiently through Desert Shield and Provide Comfort. We remember the Iron Triangle and Westmoreland's conquest of the West. Katrina was a triumph. Oil rigs demand something other than boats. They climb higher and higher on Everest.

excellent capture. heliocopters have too much hype, and are portrayed as do alls , but a well placed ground fire can bring them to their heels unfortunately
