Description

Even though I'm moving this weekend, I had to take just a moment out to post (IMHO) one of the finer delicacies of life - the red snapper, A.K.A. Lutjanus campechanus, a reef fish found in abundance in the Gulf Coast, especially off the panhandle of Florida. That's where this lovely specimen came from, courtesy of Joe Patti Seafood of Pensacola. This unlucky guy was swimming in the Gulf of Mexico just a few hours before this photograph was taken last month down at Joe Patties. I've yet to find a finer tasting fish than a Red Snapper when it's baked or grilled just right. But for the sake of scientific research, I'll keep on looking just to be sure! Have a great weekend! Back to moving for me. . . marshall

Nice shot. Love how the red just POPS out from the cool ice. Great looking eye too. I have only had snapper once long ago. Mainly now I stick to Shark and Salmon. But may try some RS soon. I bet when it's that fresh it has awesome flavor. Well done.

Not the image I would hang in the living room..perhaps in the kitchen. Yes, wonderfully tasty fish this is. Nice and clean shot with an unusual pov.

Just yum. My grandfather always liked fried snapper throats and ordered them whenever the fam went to the old Firehouse Restaurant- located in the building now occupied by McGuire's, if you can believe it! ... weird thing, huh? You'll see restaurants that still offer them from time to time but it's rare. Pleasant moving.... lil'
