Description
Captured 12/05 at the beautiful Descanso Gardens in beautiful LaCanada/Flintridge, California.
This sinuous hunk of tree is just as long as it appears, i.e., several yards/meters.
And, as adventurous as I am, I did not have to climb a tree to capture this scene. The shot was taken from a high platform, adjacent to a giant tree, conveniently built by the Gardens for such photographic endeavors. So, instead of clambering up a tree trunk, thereby jeopardizing my arthritic knees and bad back, all I had to do was climb some stairs.
Have a nice day.

Well I am so pleased to hear that you didn't put yourself in harm's way for this great shot Harry. I love the colours of the branch and the way the light is creating a silvery effect along the length of it which also highlights the great textures of the bark. Wonderful POV and composition. Hugs. xx

Looks like the branch of a Live Oak... Well done!

I love the way the limb juts out supporting the weight of the branches, which in turn sprout lovely twigs that dangle masses if green leaves! This shot seems to have it all! Great texture has been highlighted by your excellent pov (and I'm glad you had help with that via the platform. Good catch, Harry!

Excellent POV - I'm glad someone had already thought of it so you didn't have to climb this tree! Cool colors, too.

I used to go to LaCanada often in 1966 on my Duke. Now that I have learned that LaCanada is Spanish for Dale it all makes sense. A branch is not an awning.
