Description

This is a combination of 2 photos of plant life on my balcony, last year's Morning Glory, and this year's seedling growing between the cracks. A bit of photoshop work yielded an image which is supposed to be an optimistic outlook on life...

Morning Glories are my absolute favorite flower. I love the way they take everything over - they are pretty persistant too : ). I like your concept here - again I find myself wondering what it will look like as a watercolor. Looks like you snapped the shot on the right towards the 10-12 hour - I think the render might look better with more of a 6am sky. Or possibly a combination somehow.

It´s a nice picture to look at. From the technical point of view, I´d wish a more effective compositing effect; maybe ID jjroland is right and probably photos will have a better matching if lights intensity were somehow more balanced. Anyway, still this is very subjective, and perhaps this perception obeys to the fact that the author mentioned the presence of 2 photos and some postwork. I wonder what would have been our perception if she wouldn´t do so. My problem with this image is that I don´t see any adversity signs around. Atmosphere, colors, framing is telling another story for me_ the optimistic outlook on life... Was this "adversity" in the author´s state of mind? In that case, I´d like to quote this: "Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which, in prosperous circumstances, would have lain dormant. " Horace (Quintus Horatius Flaccus), Satires.

i can't quite pinpoint all the elements outside that curly green vine. but this photo composition is very stylistically consistent with your paintings. it takes a very good eye to find something in nature and record it from a perspective that's uniquely your own. very skillful eye and creative will.
