Description
I have hit one of those "I hate my work and I am uninspired stages where I also hate Poser 6-7 limitations". This render came about after seeing an ad for "Becoming Jane" a movie here in the US about Jane Austen's life - although quite a bit is fictionalized as she was a quiet person. Jane Austen (16 December 1775–18 July 1817) was an English novelist whose works include Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion. Her social commentary and masterful use of both free indirect speech and irony eventually made Austen one of the most influential and honoured novelists in English literature. Her novels were all written and set around the Regency Era. She never married and died at age 41. Although the movie claims she had a lover that her family would not allow her to marry. How hard it must of been for women in those days. The fact that she became a published writer at all is amazing.
The basic set is from Mostdigitalcreations site and is called "Writing Room". I changed the floor and window textures and the chair, which is a freebie by Toni Lynch. The bookcase and writing box on the floor are freebies from Ness Period Reproductions. Her hair is Alanis Hair by FKDesigns at 3Dcommune. Her dress is from the V4 Dynamic Trousseu at Daz with the materials changed to satin. Poser 7 refused to raytrace with this one for some reason but did render without raytracing. I think the latest service releases have made P7 worse.
For those of you who have asked about my horse, Buddy, is is doing great. The Vet was wrong about his leg, and he is sound and a real sweetheart. It has been so hot here in Michigan -the humidity from all the lakes is what makes it so miserable - makes all sports difficult. It is one of the hotest summers we have had in years.
Thank you so much for your comments!!!! They mean a lot to me!!!!!

this is such a wonderful scene...i like all the little details you've added (like Ness' writing set sitting on the floor)...the room and atmosphere are perfect and little ol' jane never looked so good (though it appears we only have one painting of her and that one is even in question--too bad)...

Most women I know, just lap this Jane Austin stuff right up ! I think the silk texture turned pretty good and a nice Victorian over all feel and the lighting works really well ! I agree it must have be very hard to be a woman back then...Pride and Prejudice for sure ! Well done & ~Cheers~ :o)

One of those times that you are glad a Dr. is wrong! Good to hear! Cool concept, a well done period piece and the lighting from the candle is very convincing. Hope you can work your way around the software issues- they can be trying but once you got it licked, its a good feeling!

glad to hear your horse is doing well! nice atmosphere and lighting. i think her style of dress, hair and jewelry is out of period, but there's not too many choices that wouldn't be. the writing set could have a more prominent (and safer) placement on the desk near the candle. i love the palette you've chosen for this piece. very natural and muted colors create a very personal and quiet feel. your frustration definitely isn't visible in your work.
