Description

This should have been named Cooper Spur 14, but with the name of the butterflies, that was too long for the field. Anyway, these are the butterflied we saw so many of on the Coooper Spur hike. I never did get a really good shot of any of them; they just wouldn't sit still long enough. Just got back from another hike, and I'm really tired. I'll get to comments tomorrow or Tuesday. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

A very nice shot and you got plenty in one shot that all sat still for one unified moment. With all the hiking you do you must have some kind of muscular calves. I climb stairs every day - sometimes as many as 20 flights in a day and I know my legs are sturdy...but you REALLY work those muscles on these hikes!

I am amazed that the butterflies are up there to begin with. From the shots your have shared with us from Cooper Spur, there didn't appear to be many flowers, something I thought butties were particularly attracted too?? But if they are happy sitting on a rock for you to take this lovely shot, then who are we to complain LOL! Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures Dennis. Hugs. xx

Beautiful and very interesting capture. I think, die butterflies love the warmth on the rocks.

Butterflies among the... rocks? Okkk. They must be California tourist butterflies. It's nice to see what all those clone spots looked like :)

Glad you were able to grab this shot ... I wondered what all those things flitting around you looked like up close. Well done!

They are lovely but I expect they were very irritating if there were as many as you suggest.
