Description
A Mini series on Saint Leonards Church, Middleton, near Manchester, in the United Kingdom.
This is the Chapel of Our Lady & St Cuthbert commonly called the Langley or Rectors Chapel window. I like this the best.
From left to right we have Alexandar Nowell, Dean of Saint Pauls educated at Middleton next we have Thomas Langley, Cardinal & Bishop of Durham who rebuilt Middleton Church in 1412, he was the founder of this chapel. In the middle we have the Virgin Mary holding young Jesus and the words say "The Word was made Flesh and dwelt among us". The next one along is Saint Cuthbert, I can't make out the words on this as there was a large bible on the altar blocking my view. The last one is Saint Leonard, patron Saint of Middleton Church.
Thanks for looking and for any comments you care to make.
May the sun shine down on you where ever you are.

Nicely detailed and well lit photo, Jeff. With the weather recently, even floodlights outside might not get through the murk to most of my favourite church stained glass ;o) Regards, John

I love stan glass. You may not be able to go around with a flash but a young person may as you tell them where to go and where to point the flash. You be the camera person and let the flash flash as you take the shots. I hope you be able to find someone to help and find a church that let you do this type of photos. I think it a very good idea you have. I think if you get a big light to shine on the stan glass at night at a diff angel here it will look diff. I answering your comment you left me. I have often thought about but never had the opportunity to do, going into a church at night, setting the camera up on a tripod pointing down towards the altar. Setting the camera to bulb and dashing about the place firing the flash off at different area's so as to highlight them. I have had this thought for many years but am now no longer able to dash about.

I was looking at some stained glass windows in a church at St Johns here in Jersey ony this week. And thinking it would be nice to see many more. Then I saw this image and it's wonderful. So thanks you.
