Description

My first computer which I created from an article in Radio Electronics, around 1978? I ordered the processor intel 8080, 256 bytes of memory and a rom chip that allowed you to enter machine language code using a key pad. I wire wrapped the board from the circuit digram in the magazine. It worked! This is version 0.3 because pictured here I added a 4,000 byte memory board and of course the latest in monitors, an interface to an old TV. Sorry about the quality of the picture. All I had was an old slide I paid a local company to scan in. Silly me I expected them to at least blow the dust of off the slide.

Wow! High-tech for sure. That really must have been a lot of work -- I bet you still smile when you think about how it felt to turn it on... and it worked!

Bravo!! My first comp was a zx spectrum with 1/2k memory it measured about 8"x4" and had a plastic membrane over the keys. Then I bought a vic20 a massive 20k of memory and all the games had to be typed in at first. Happy days. When I bought the Vic2o, I took it home and told my children that they had to learn to use this as it was the language of tomorrow, how true that turned out to be. Well done you for building all that.
