Description

This is for Akemi, who wanted to see something from MY garden! :) This lilac is a fairly standard color, but the blooms are doubles, and they're also just huge! Double: For those of you who are botanically challenged, "double" means there are more flower petals in the same amount of space. Huge: A standard, old-fashioned lilac will have bloom clusters that are about five or six inches long. This variety runs at about eight to ten inches long. A little bit of early Spring during the dog days of Summer!

This is wonderful...the dark background sets it off so well, and the colour gradations are magical! I love this, detail, colour, perfume, all of it! Did your PS make it scratch and sniff, too? lol 5***** are NOT enough!

this is gorgeous, i seriously need to start gardening, i look out my back window and all i have is this monolith of a mango tree in full flower ready to make a mess with fruit bats help come summer, not to mention the drunken parrots who eat the fallen magoes and get high! lol beautiful shot btw..

So that's what they are! I occasionally encounter them on my excursions around the neighborhoods and have always wondered about them. I may have some shots of them in my folders. Ennyway, lovely blue/purple colors and lighting effects in this capture, Tara!
