My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Original and splendid capture Tara... I adore!

Your title is PERFECTION! Your photograph is wonderful though, and I wish I could see all mine through your lens only! I have my share of this, since, a few years ago, my non-gardening neighbours planted some of these 'pretty things' beside the fence we share..........."Look at these pretty things we found in the woods"! The fight goes on..........and my revenge may well be in the form of either Roundup or Sidekick!

not familiar with it but obviously a very beautiful flower

Oh yes, these are nasty. Reminds me of the story of the people who broke out in a terrible rash and couldn't figure out why. When someone went in their house, there was a beautiful red and orange arrangement of poison oak on their dining room table!! There are some things that just want to take over the world!!

EXCELLENT CAPTURE & COMPOSITION !!!!!

Hey Tara calm down...but I totally agree with you....good shot of those pestering things.

Oh I have to laugh because less than 5 minutes ago I was looking at a shot of bind weed that I was going to post. At the last moment, I decided to post my morning glory instead. :-) I'm battling my bind weed like you and everyone else that has it in their yard. Every evening I pull another handful up. It's an endless task. This is a gorgeous shot if it. Makes you want to plant it... BUT DON'T! :-)

Great image. I love your passion and enthusiasm of your narritave as well! It really told me everything I'd need to know. Thank you for sharing both photo and story. :o)

LOL, I love your description of this thing. I know exactly what you are talking about, the gardens at work are full of the stuff, I'm gonna be spending the best part of a today pulling it out. It's a wonderful shot, though I do have to fight the urge to spray weedkiller on my monitor when I see it. :)

Awesome idea, though the flowers are gorgeous:))!!!

Lol, I have to chuckle at this! As soon as I saw it, it reminded me of being a child, seeing it and popping the 'grannies' (as we called them) out of their beds! Great shot!
fredster66
Very nice work offering two angles of these beauties. Very well done!

Love the narrative, this made the whole thing! Great capture too! I, thankfully, am not familiar with this flower. It looks like the Jimson Weed I have seen growing on the side of the road and in fields.

OHH LOL I like your ironic humor LOL !! But is is indeed very beautiful and you got a wonderful shot of it.

I remember these tenacious little monsters! Thanks for the memory Tara..LOL They are pretty if you don't know what they are. Great capture and explanation! Hugs, :)

Such a graphic description! I was looking for horns & a pitchfork. They are such beautiful flowers but after that description I think they should be jet black. All our plants are in tubs, I have no 'bare' soil it is all paved or gravel in my garden. So do not have this trouble. The photograph itself is excellent though, love the title. Bravo!!!!!

beauty but the twine that comes with them :(
OldHippieKeyboard
Well, don't mince words, Tara ... Tell us how you really feel about this plant. ;'] Gotta tell ya, this looks like a loving portrait of the plant you despise. Bravo!
lil_sizzler
Excellent shot. Love the muted colors.

What is this ambiguity of opinion? Can the bindweed be both lovely and evil? I suppose so, considering the bad queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was both evil and lovely. And so on including a whole spectrum of female vampires and nasty gals throughout the history of filmdom. In any event, a wonderful presentation of the bane/bete noir of your garden.
delaorden_ojeda
lovely and beautiful, excelent !
