Description

Something about the way this turned out made me think of the planet Saturn. I pass it every day on my way to work. (Okay - maybe that's a bit of a stretch. But people DO often voice the opinion that I may be from another planet!) These shallow pottery bowls live in my niece's home. The original background of this shot was a bit distracting from the main subject, so I changed it. The new background is a modified version of the original photograph. Now that we have the photo manipulation genre to play in, I STILL waffle! I used to dither between Photography and 2-D, and now I dither between genres. What was most important to me about this shot was it's abstract quality though, not the fact that I switched out the background. So . . . abstract won out. ................ SHAMELESS ADVERTISEMENT FOR PRIOR WORK . . . . If you like TWILIGHT ZONE -style stories, take a look at "Headed for Mystery," a short story I wrote in collaboration with JillianElf and Unstrung65. You can access it from the Writer's Gallery, or my gallery, or you can cut and paste this address: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1503203&member (I don't know how to make one of those link things - sorry!)

Now that we have the photo manipulation genre to play in, I STILL waffle!.......correct you do lol, but, sometimes what you say is as important as the upload itself, it gives an insight into the person, how they think, and makes understanding their artistic preferences easier. I love abstract work and the colours look great.

I like the title, it fits the image excellently. With the rings around the bowls it gives it a sense of movement, fascinating image. I keep going back for another look. Bravo!!!!!

Imaginative POV and vivid reds in this lovely pottery bowl abstract, Tara. Actually, from my vantage point, this looks like a view from atop a flying saucer flying over the planet Jupiter. Shown is a round transparent cupola on top of the craft as it glides along on its multi million mile odyssey across space.
