Description

Here is my first shot from right in front of our condo where we were vacationing in Keystone, Colorado. I woke up at 6:30 am and decided to make the most of it. The sun had just started to peek over the mountains. The altitude was really hard on me!! But we all adjusted and had time so I hope to share more pics of this beautiful area. Have a great week! I'm looking forward to seeing them. It looks like a great place to visit. Sorry the altitude was an issue. I'm afraid I'd have the same problem. :^/ Lovely capture, Jodie. It has a wonderful sense of tranquility to it.-M :^)

Well you are a lot higher than me where I sit at 700 feet on the edge of the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland. Apart from that , you have caught a scene very similiar to where I live, no wonder people come here on holiday ! Thanks for sharing you vacation pics.

A lovely vista. The compo is good and the bench to the right is a lovely touch.

Great POV and DOF in this panorama of the landscape and mountains. Very similar to the photos my brother keeps sending me from Colorado. Nice picnic bench.

What a view! Was it as dry there as it has been in parts of the Upper Midwest?

The early birds catches the worm! Wonderful scenery captured Jodie, there is something graceful about the are which you captured and is hard to put into words.

this is one of a series of pictures I saved URLs from, in order to get to them in time; and I don't know why I waited so long—probably because I lost the folder! But this is beautiful, your photographer's eye took you to the moment where everything unfolded in visceral layers. It's not a misty dawn, but a dawn that unveils in swaths. The house/lodge in mid-ground is a swath; the trees behind, a swath; the mountains behind that, and so on. And the delicate reds—rust reds & peach reds—are beautiful against the greens both bright & muted (muted in the pre-day light). And your sky is punctuated by tree-leaves (right-side) which fade into the sky like they were painted around the edges. If someone said, "do you think this is a Jodie picture?" I'd say yes without hesitation, though I couldn't find words for why, since "Jodie picture" covers a lot of styles. But there's something in the layers and their interaction, and in the generosity of how everything works together that speaks of you. It's dramatic but very whole. Beautiful and a fav.
