But where are the snakes? :O) Seriously, a nice capture and also a nifty demonstration of what reflections look like in still water. Beautiful.

Still and so peaceful.... Looks like such a wonderful place to go to get away from it all. Lovely photo, Jodie. I really like the way you composed this. -M :^)

Wonderful composition of the great outdoors in this capture, Jodie! I like the way the background foliage dips near the center of the shot. Of course, you know I love lake reflections.

To fish or not to fish, or better yet, did he catch a fish and then release it back into the waters? As I said, to fish or not to fish, it is a place of tranquility and one I would love visiting in order to be one with my surroundings. Thank you for sharing. egmont

As a flyfisherman, I notice not only the peacefulness of this scene...but I also see what many may have missed here...that is the telltale ring in the water (right hand side of image) indicating the rise of a trout. Thanks for this one!....wish I could be there now!

Very nice shot, it reminds me of a place I photographed once near Järna in Sweden, it was also a gloomy day. There is a tip if you don't mind me sharing it. When you have the initial shot, like the one above, just tilt the camera up slightly until the trees and lake look a little darker and the sky contains a little more definition, and take another shot. Then blend the two shots together. Of course this won't work so well if the sky is absolutly white, but if there is any shape to the clouds it can make a difference as it show in the reflection. One of my passions is scenic photography, but I am so bad at catalogueing them they never end up here LOL.

Such a beautiful, heavenly photograph! I envy those people who live up on that hill, just a few steps away from such tranquility--Love that exceptional tree on the right hand side--- adds that bit of "red" flavour to the scene. The little person seems so small juxtaposed to the greatness of the land surrounding him.... I think it really brings out the scale here, philosophically speaking... how small humanity is in comparison to the power and the great beauty of the earth. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

Excellent cropping and composition with the lines of the treetops. The fisherman seems to occupy a very secluded spot.
