Description

I took this photo of LJ and his son, Phil, in the summer of 05, at a beautiful park in Boulder. It's special to me because it was the last time they saw each other, as LJ passed away unexpectedly in the spring of 06. I like how they are looking at one another and how their hands are in their jean pockets.

This is such a beautiful, touching, photo, Carol! Very honest - love both father and son's hands in the pockets for sure, as well as the sense of nature's grandeur and serenity that highlights such a fundamental, beautiful relationship. The lighting is celestial. Gorgeous work! Thank you for sharing this.

It is a beautiful capture, Carol. The connection is visible between them, they echo each others body language. A moving capture, so very precious. Hugs. Diane.

A beautiful peaceful spot to be and your memories will be forever. Lovely how you have captured them both with their hands in their pockets. Lovely reflections in the water too.

Your work is always exceptional and the story behind this touches me deeply. None of us really know...... when the last time we see or talk with someone that means something to us is really the the last time. It's only once they're gone, do we truly miss them and appreciate them. Thank-you.. :=)

Ohhh Carol! I just came online to try to catch up...like a drop in an ocean after all this time really. Then I came across this beautiful image and I must say it brought back some memories for me, as well! What a remarkable capture of LJ and Phil! I only wish I had something like this of my dad before he passed on...and in such a beautiful place, too! Wow! I bet the fish were practically leaping out of the water just waiting to be someone's dinner! I look back to those male bonding times between father and son with fond memories. Like the time we went sea fishing and the first thing I caught was my finger...Sigh. Those were the days. I look up at the names here and I don't know how many actually remember LJ did like some of the old school members, so for them it's a really beautiful image. For the rest of us, it's a really touching capture of a happy time that we won't soon forget! I'm so sorry I haven't been around much lately, Carol. I feel really guilty about it, but life has been a bit of a burden and my time hasn't been plentiful to be here much. A very lovely and meaningful picture for certain, Carol, and if you don't mind...I'll just go ahead and put this close to my heart. Love always, -David-

Oh Carol...this is just so beautiful... I know you've heard that a lot and it might seem redudant, but this is just an amazing capture. There's a certain distance about them, as if one is in a dream, staring back at the other. It's very strange but lovely. This is just a wonderful picture. Thank you so very much for posting and sharing such a wonderful memory. <3;
