Description

Having been named as the next Pharaoh, Vikititi became the first female Pharaoh in Egypt. Despite the higher status given to women in Egyptian society compared with many early peoples, there were still some who resented a female ruler. But they dare not go against the dying wishes of the previous Pharaoh, who has the status of a living God. At her coronation, Vikititi wears the double crown of a united country, the red "basket" crown of Lower Egypt combined with the white conical crown of Upper Egypt. And she carries the crook and flail as symbols of her power and a link to the god Osiris. To be continued... Note: The details of the Pharaoh's symbols are accurate but Vikititi herself is fictional. There were occasional female Pharaoh's, the most famous (before Cleopatra) being Hatshepsut. I am envisioning Vikititi to pre-date Hatshepsut by some considerable number of years, hence making her the first! Many thanks for looking and for the uplifting feedback on the start of this story - plenty more to come (if I can cope with the complexity of some of the planned scenes!). Have a great day! Phil
