AloooooooHa!
Surprise, surprise...more waves! Yeah I know, I've been pounding you with waves lately. I have so many on my hard drive I thought I would start posting them before I loose my damn mind and delete them all. This was a shot a few months back when we had a good swell pounding the Puna Coast.
This was a very sketchy day to be out shooting alone as the waves were quite huge and I was out on the rocks. I don't recommend doing this as we loose people all the time in surf like this. Not paying attention when the ocean is treacherous like this can cost you your life. But I plan my escape routes well before I ever venture to the edge to get my shots.
Sometimes you can be mesmerized by the power of these beauties and forget how much danger you have put yourself into. Such was the case here...I just did escape the wrath of this wave as it exploded on too the rocks. Man for an ole guy, I can still boogie if the situation calls for it...but I know the consequences and learn lessons each time I go out....
Glad to report no damage to my equipment or myself...on this day.

Omigod, Na'e! What an awesome capture! And it's just been sitting around? Shame on you. Slap! Slap! What were you thinkin', man? Gorgeous, gorgeous shot. Okay...had to calm myself...lol...Each one of your waves has a signature, a fingerprint, if you will...and they are all marvelous. Don't forget that, please. I love what you do. As to the risk part of all this...I'm glad you know what you're doing, and it clearly shows. I guess the reality is, all great art requires 'taking a risk', eh?... ;^) Hugzz-M :^)

Don't you dare delete your wave shots - some of us don't ever get to see such beautiful things without looking at photographs, so you keep 'em coming! This is a magnificent capture, and might I say, well worth the risk (I can say that now I know you are safe LOL!) the colours in the wave itself, with it's gradually changing blues are beautiful. Pure excellence! xx
