What a great shot. I remember doing that as a child. Standing in the Pacific Ocean, braving the waves. It was very exciting - every wave had the potential to be just a little bit too big! Would that next one be the one I'd have to run from? You've brought back a very vivid memory I hadn't thought of in years! Thanks for posting this!

I remember this game well. A wave would come rolling towards shore and you would run up the sand but never quite fast enough so that the frothing push of spent wave would encircle your ankles before pulling itself back out to sea. I really like this nostalgic shot. Very nice.

You have to watch the little ones so closely. the first time I took my oldest to the beach at a bay a tiny wave washed over his feet and he fell face down in it. Years later both son's were playing in rough surf in the Atlantic and kept drifting further and further down the shore. I had to trust them a bit as they had been taught to rebel.
