Wonderful ocean scene, fabulous waves!! Surf's up! How come he's dressed all warm in black with what appears to be rubber gloves and stuff and she's all in her little shorts and tshirt, soaking wet? I don't get what's going on. Almost a little spooky! Is he maybe trying to teach her to sort of surf on that blue board thingy?

He's wearing a wetsuit maybe?? I grew up at the beach, if ever fatherhood comes my way. I'm moving back. Great photo.

I was just reading in the WSJ how people were being encouraged to call the police whenever they saw a man holding a child's hand in public. This clearly looks to me like a father or uncle playing boogie board with a girl. Any police arrriving on the scene could expect to be subject to "horseplay." Time to call off the dogs of women's liberation.

Just to calm everyone down, I was there and it seemed to be a father daughter thing. The mother was standing off to the side taking pictures and didn't seem to mind that I stopped to take a picture or two myself. as to the suit that was a wet suit I am guessing that he surfs and was starting to teach his daughter how to stand on a childs board while he pulled her along the beach. It seemed to me that everyone that day was having a really good day. I hope no body reads more into this picture then there really is. Lizzi

What a cute shot! She looks really intent on learning how to stay on that board. (I'm totally boggled by the comments you've gotten on this image. How anyone can read anything into this charming scene is beyond me!)
