I am so pleased to be a member here at Renderosity. For me Renderosity is much more than a place to display my works. I have made many friend's here. I take so many photographs but I do not like to have my own photograph taken.. I actually like this shot. I say a huge thank you, to My Goha for postworking this shot for me. The original shot was taken up at my friend's house. He put this wonderful swing in the largest tree on his land! Iccle pushes me up so high!! The swing is over precipice, so not for the faint hearted... but such fun.. I love to be at their house and feel like a child again on this swing. I will tell you why I choose my RR name, "Rainbows". When my niece Victoria was a very little girl, she used to say to me.. Auntie DiDi "I love you, all the world and rainbows". I love her just as much as she loves me. She is older now and our love for each other is so strong. A beautiful day is wished for you all. Hugs. Diane.

I thank you all for comments. @RobyHermida/dear Roby. Yes, the Abbey is a ruin. It costs millions of pounds to maintain it in it's present state. I know you may find this hard to believe but this Abbey is cared for by our nation. It is part of our national heritage, we are proud of it. I hope this helps you understand, dear Roby. It is not lack of care but age that is the problem. The original Abbey on this site dated back to 657. Diane.

I used to live near Whitby and remember these stones and the history of the place well. Thanks for reminding me of it with this wonderful picture.

This is a great picture of Whitby Abbey Diane, I don't think I've seen one as good as this. The approach to Whitby over the moors is breathtaking, especially when its covered with the purple Heather. Its a beautiful place.

Wooow !! What a shot and atmosphere you've created her !!

What marvellous lighting! It looks like it was made of brass or some other metal. And the sky is just perfect along with those beautiful remains. "Caedmon's hymn" is a beautiful praise to creation from the 8th century, I believe. Marvellous with a shot from Caedmmon's residence!
