Description

This was taken today when a few RR members met each other in the lovely City if Bath so this is for BibbyBear and her Hubby Darren, and Peewee05.. Thanks guys for the great day we certainly had the weather for it!! I think we were quite impressed with the most expensive terraced houses in the UK!! We even saw a valet run out to open a car door, but it turns out that number 15-16 was a posh Hotel!! The Royal Crescent is a notable residential road of 30 houses, laid out in a crescent, in the city of Bath, United Kingdom. It was designed by the architect John Wood the Younger and built between 1767 and 1774. It is amongst the greatest examples of Georgian architecture to be found in the United Kingdom and is a grade I listed building... Together with his father John Wood, the Elder, John Wood the Younger was interested in occult and masonic symbolism; perhaps their creation of largest scale was their joint design of the Royal Crescent and the nearby Circus (originally called "The King's Circus"), which from the air can be observed to be a giant circle and crescent, symbolising the soleil-lune, the sun and moon.

Well, I wanted to make some expletive remark at you for uploading such a fantastic shot of this magnificent architectural splendour as now (as I told you today!) this means I cannot even attempt to upload any of my meagre captures LOL! Only kidding Danny, my day was for learning, which, considering how my head hurts so much now, I think I did plenty of - so for that, I thank both you and Vera. You have really captured the glory of this brilliant Georgian design perfectly as it was today with the gorgeous blue sky that we had all day long too (I have quite red shoulders to prove it!). Thank you so much for a wonderful day out - and must do again sometime!! xox

Fantastic shot of the Crescent(I live on Crescent Road, in Lancashire though) and what a gorgeous sky you had for a backdrop. Looks like a few posh cars there but further round I see a Camper Van? a Transit Van? lol. Great pov, love the detail, the cobble setts and the spiked rails the beautiful Georgian architecture. I wonder if anybody living there still have servants that live on the top floor? Bravo!!!!!

This is a lovely shot Dan. Thank You so much for joining me on my trip. It was so much more pleasurable to go out with people apposed to just myself. I think you got the lines just right. LOL, I haven't even looked at my shots but I'm probably going to be with Chris on this one and might not post one of the crescent. But then again I've got some crazy angles. I love that you included the history too it really makes the shot all that more worth while!
