Being in school again was awkward... so was having to create THREE self-portraits from a single image. One is hard enough for a shy person! Why a map? I am fascinated by old maps and what they say about those who made them and those who commissioned them. Information is hidden as well as revealed, and the point of view may be most revealing of all. And, most wonderful: no matter how fine our maps and exacting our measurements, there will always be a frontier, an unknowable area... someplace just on the border of possibility.
