Description
When Rick (aka Rykk) and I were working in the yard Sunday, he told me to grab my camera. This little guy was slithering along the house. He's a Coluber constrictor helvigularis -- the common name is Brownchin Racer -- and was just a baby at 10-12 inches long. He was really fast, but I managed to corner him. He tried climbing the wall of the house, and when he couldn't, he stopped and just watched me. What I didn't know is that, when cornered, they will bite. They are non-venemous, but the bite will draw blood. I didn't get too close, and eventually he managed to disappear.

Any of the Racers are fast, hence the name "Racer." LOL I'm surprised you could corner him long enough to get this shot. My daughter has caught a few racers by chance and although they bite, it is not so bad. I think she's been bitten worse by a corn snake and a python ... I wouldn't know because I don't pick up ANY snake...:-) Great shot and the pov gives it a very nice distortion.
