"In human life, art may arise from almost any activity, and once it does so, it is launched on a long road of exploration, invention, freedom to the limits of extravagance, interference to the point of frustration, finally discipline, controlling constant change and growth." ~ Susanne Langer
My entries for the One-Use Camera Challenge going on in the Photography Forum. You can visit the thread HERE {---link. I have to admit that I was quit disappointed when I got my photos back. The photos were muddy, many blurry, and a lot of them under/overexposed. I attribute this to perhaps a low quality camera and lens, the developer I took it too, and operator error. I noticed that when shooting, as I clicked the shutter release my thumb resting on the film advance would move slightly. That might be the cause of so many blurry images, some of which I had the greatest hopes for. Ah well. This was an interesting exercise, but I don't think I'll be using another disposable any time soon, or film for that matter. The images were scanned into Photoshop by me, the levels adjusted, and then converted to B&W. The colors were really awful. That is a vulture flying in that sky shot, not a speck of dirt. ;'] ------

I think this is a clever challenge, and I am enjoying the outcome!

The work you put into these images brought up the level of interest, I'm sure. Nice job!

LOL I thought it was dirt and was surprised you left it in. If anything, this challenge makes you greatful for your digital camera, so that's positive. I think you did a great job, heck, under the circumstances, an excellent job!=M :^)

It must have been quite a challenge to pick out appropriate subject matter for the one-use camera challenge contest. Muddy or not, these shots came out exceptionally well. Not exactly like using a Panasonic SLR, but pretty good anyway. In the end, Photoshop, as always, to the rescue.

We bought one at the zoo for 12 bucks I hope anything turns out this well. My daughter did camera duty so there's hope.

FABULOUS! 1ère:Splendid tree with superb shadows! 2ème:Excellent POV! 3ème:Like an abstract! 4ème and 5ème:Original subject very graphic! My favorite is the n°4... and ... superb result and "bravo" for your participation in this challenge!

olivier158
yeah Kort ! nice job my friend ! i really like the 1 and the 5. The first is classic, really nice coompo & contrast ;o) The fifth is fabulous of abstraction and reflections ! i like it a lot ! all the others are very intersting, don't be disapointed, these and all of our shots in this exercise are not dedicated to an exhibition. It was just an experience ;o) May be now, the next time you will shoot with your usual cam, you will see things a little bit differently ;o) I hope you really have got pleasure while you were shooting pics ! it was important ;o) see ya ;o)

what a lovely series for the circumstance...you did a good job...not easy to do....we are lost without digital cameras....lol

I think 1,3 and 5 are the best for me. I like the textures in 1 and 5 and 3 is very abstract.

Ok, you tickled my funny bone sompin' fierce! LOL I know what you mean about those disposable cameras. I usually buy one for each of my grandkids when we have a special event we are going to or I take them camping so that they can take shots of things that mean something to them. I always thought my grandkids were shutter-challenged but maybe it's not them! :-) I love these shots for what they are. History from the depths of the 20th century.

Great collage...

great pics...i love the first one.....when my daughter goes on school camps i buy her a disposable camera and her shots always come out great, i do think it is the brand that gives better quality...

I have never used a disposable camera.I think I would prefer my old Brownie if I still had it.

I learn on film you have to scan the film. The store that print the images is way off on the real images. I see this time and tiome again. I like to tell them to just develope the film for me. But they will not do that. no money in it for them.

Very interesting outcome! I would be challenged to try again to eliminate some of the reasons you listed. I really doubt that it was operator error! Nice row of shots considering what you dealt with.

Pretty good and varied result with your great eye for composition ! A winner in my books, even witht he blur, well done ! ~Cheers~ :o)

Kort, you may not like the focus but the perspective is just fine with me. Quite nicely done. But do keep the other camera around. So far, quite more impressed with these "disposable shots" than expected.

Interesting topic and camera shot. Excellent job. Aloha

Your subjects are all interesting and I think they all look great but not as good as your usual postings. The reflections in the bumper bar are really good.
Punaguy
Man that's a tough assignment...sorta like a sniper, one shot one kill. But you made each one interesting...and you really can't expect the greatest image from those type of fixed lens wonders. Some bluriness is too be expected...Great entries~~ Aloha~

Gorgeous!!!

This is a funny challenge i will have a look to the forum. My favorite would be the sky shoot. The way the camera actually convert light into some abstract lines came out quite well. Maybe a lot of photoshop behind the result. Cool Anyway

Very interesting the only place i would take a camera like that to is a place where I would not take one of my digital cameras too, eg a drunken party.
KarmaSong
Whatever the disappointment and the hardships to have this montage come through, I do like it very much , it's inspiring and points to your great eye for the details of daily life that often go unnoticed. Great composition, be proud of it then :-)5+++

How did you get a B&W instant camera?
